50 Sight Seeing Places in London

The Cable Car at Victoria dock is a relatively new addition to the London skyline, having opened on in July 2012. Formerly named the Emirates Air Line after its sponsors – Emirates Airline; it is more commonly referred to as the Thames Cable Car. The service offers a link across the River Thames between The Royal Docks and the Greenwich Peninsula. The cable car is the first of its kind in the UK and is a great way to travel across the river whilst seeing the city from a completely different angle.

This is one attraction that is not for those who don’t have a head for heights. Standing at 90 metres (300 feet) it is taller than the nearby O2 Arena.

Another important thing to note is that Oyster cards and other travel cards are not accepted on the cable car, but they will get you a 25% discount of the price of a ticket which is £4.30 for an adult, £2.20 for a child and under 5’s go free (one way).
