We start our trip with a visit to the grand daddy of Washington tourist attractions, The White House! The home of the President, The White House is a powerful and symbolic image of the United States. It is where the President lives, and meets with foreign leaders. Guided tours are available, but you’ll have to request/book 6 months in advance. As you can imagine, not just anyone can enter the White House. This is the most iconic building in the United States, so make the most of it!
You don’t even have to be a museum lover to appreciate our next wonderful location. The National Air and Space Museum is a one of a kind adventure, for people of all ages. The museum boasts an incredible range of exhibits and information on America’s space programmes, including detailed info on the Apollo 11 moon landing; and up-to-date information on current space exploration activities! The best part about this is that it’s completely FREE! So what are you waiting for? Get yourself to the National Air and Space Museum today!
We finish our tour with some light reading. Oh, did we say light? We meant ENORMOUS! The Library of Congress is the largest library in the entire world. Today it’s home to 158 million items, including 36 million books and 69 million manuscripts! Incredible. The library is completely open to the public, if you do want to find a research paper/rare item then make sure you check ahead of schedule that it’s there. What a treat!
